Ruthie is a spayed, 6 year old beauty who was turned in to the Douglas County Shelter today by her lifelong owners because they said they could not afford her insulin shots once she was diagnosed with diabetes.

This sweet girl is so confused about being removed from the only home she has ever known, to be thrust into a cold, locked, steel cage.  She does not understand why she can no longer lay on her comfy couch, and go get tasty food and fresh water any time she wants.

Ruthie’s longevity is in serious jeopardy due to her medical condition so she needs to be rescued ASAP (before Tuesday!).

This wonderful 4 year old German Shepherd was brought to the Walter Crowe shelter in Camden, SC because of a lifestyle change.  In other words, she was no longer wanted.  She is a beautiful sweet girl that has had a terrible life based on the way she looked when she arrived.  It was later determined that she was pregnant.  She had two puppies that were placed but now she needed to be rescued.  A kindhearted foster took her in but was unable to take care of her many medical needs.  She has several large mammary gland tumors and also has several ovarian cyst the size of your fist that need to be removed or her life will be very short lived with them.  She is also high HW positive.  We took her into our medical program so she can get the medical care that she so desperately needed. She had two and half hours of surgery on Thursday and is doing much better than we had expected.  Her tumors and cyst were huge and required extensive surgery to seal the incision sights because of their size.  Diamond is one of the sweetest dogs that doesn’t even realize how bad her life has been so far.  She is so appreciative of anyone that stops to pet and love on her.  She is a beautiful gentle soul that deserves a wonderful life with someone that will never abandon her and will take care of her for the rest of her life.

We have a puppy that needs a good home.  My sister got her last week, where she got her, they were going to  kill her….if you see anyone that will take her, please let me know.  She’s about 4 months old I guess.

Hey Beth, here is the little doggie I told you about. He is very sweet and is quite passive. He is shy at first but warms up pretty quickly. We have been calling him Buddy…although he doesn’t know his name yet. I have 3 other male dogs and 2 females, so he plays well with others and has shown no signs of wanting to be the “alpha dog.” Also, he does exceptionally well with cats, as we have a few of those too. I am not sure what his story is since I picked him up off the highway, but all he wants is to have a forever home and just wants to be loved. Just pass this along and if anybody is interested, here is my number.

In 2008, Renee Huntley pled guilty to 23 of 26 counts of animal cruelty in Knox County.  Her charges included cruel confinement, cruel transport, and failure to provide food/water/shelter/care.  She was found guilty of “intentional cruelty to animals” and has subsequently been barred from obtaining animals from any of Knoxville’s shelters; nor is she permitted to bring any animals into the city.  Several additional shelters have voluntarily refused to release animals to Ms. Huntley, including Monroe County Animal Shelter and Loudon County Animal Shelter.  We are asking that you please follow their compassionate example in an effort to prevent further incidents of animal cruelty perpetrated by Ms. Huntley.

Ms. Huntley intentionally left at least 26 animals uncared for in a residence in Knox County for an undetermined length of time.  Arresting officers discovered a shocking scene of squalor and filth when they investigated neighbors’ complaints of an odor emanating from Ms. Huntley’s residence.   There was so much filth and feces inside the home, TN Code Enforcement had it condemned.  Ms. Huntley had been charged with cruelty prior to this incident after it was discovered that she was housing a family of dogs in a car in parking garage.  However, this did not prevent her from obtaining more animals.

Unfortunately, Ms. Huntley has found a way to circumvent the law by simply obtaining animals outside of Knox County.  She continues to collect and store animals; according to Vicki Morgan, the director of Monroe County Animal Shelter,she will drive for hours to obtain animals from a shelter that is not familiar with her or her criminal past.

It is of crucial importance that businesses such as yours, businesses that have vowed to protect and care for animals, be on the alert for individuals posing as “rescuers” – individuals who do NOT have the animals’ best interests in mind, but instead are using them to feed a psychological addiction.

Working together, we can save the animals from those who would have them suffer.

My husband was helping a guy move some old cars from his father-in-law’s and on their fenced in property were their dogs and their dog’s pups.  They will take pups to pound where they probably never be seen by the public.  I hate to see this happen:(

These little guys and two of their siblings were born, and are living under a car.  Mom is a flat coat mix and dad, we think, is a blue heeler. There are four babies.  I can get more pics, give first shots, worming, de-flee, and help with transport cost IF ANYONE can take these little guys.  I will also get mom fixed as soon as school is out so a repeat will not happen, at least with her..  These puppies are located in Carroll Co.
