Hi everyone!
An update on the mother cat and kittens rescued in Oklahoma. This lady has gone to extreme measures to help these sweeties! Please read the update below and if you can help with transporting the kittens to NJ or fostering them temporarily, or help with fostering or taking in the mother cat, please contact:
Shelley Gosney @ shelley_gosney@yahoo.com or call her at 404-438-6869
The momma and kittens all tested negative for FLV and have all their shots.
Shelley, who is trying to find homes for the kitty family she rescued in OK still needs help. She did find homes for the kittens, but now needs help getting 2 of the kittens to NJ, and also needs help with fostering and a home/rescue for the mama. Please read her new message below and if you can help with any of these requests, please contact her.
Thanks!
Hi Michelle, Hi Carrie.
Just wanted to give you both an update on the Oklahoma kitties and let you know that your cross posting and emails are working
God is good! I got an email earlier in the week from a woman in New Jersey (Laure) that offered some information and said she could take them and get them into homes; she had also cross posted and sent the email out to friends and contacts. Well yesterday morning I got a call from a woman in New Jersey saying she had receive the email from Laure. She is wanting to adopt both the gray kittens; she said she has a heart for adopting “less than perfect animal” and when she read about our little one eyed guy she said “it just feels right”. The little black kitten has found a home in Dallas with a man I’ve known for about 20 years
So this leaves our beautiful black mommy cat needing a home; ladies I need your help. In the next 3 days I will be driving 5 1/2 hours to Northeastern Oklahoma to pick up them all up (today I will be buying a medium sized carrier) and then drive 5 1/2 hours back to Dallas to drop off the black kitten. I am then renting a car and driving from Dallas to Atlanta (12 hours) on Tuesday; arriving late Tuesday night.
Here is what I need:
1) I hear there in a network of animal transporters? Do you guys know anything about how and who does this? I need to get the gray guys to New Jersey. If needed I will end up driving them there as well but, as you can imagine, help would be great.
2) Temporary housing for the mommy cat and 2 gray kittens for a few days in Atlanta. I need a few days to re-group before getting the kittens to New Jersey. Do you know of anyone who could offer them a few days accommodation and love in Atlanta?
3) I need to find a foster or loving home for the mommy cat. We are still networking in Dallas but no one has stepped forward yet. I would love to keep her, as she is so sweet, but I am at critical mass right now. Do you guys have to time to check in with Good Mews and or some other organizations on m behalf?
Mommy cat was spayed this past week and everyone has been tested for FLV; the tests came back negative and all have been vaccinated. All other shots have been given as well.
Thank you both for your help thus far. Any additional energy, time and ideas you can lend regarding the above is greatly appreciated!
Shelley

94938 b,c,d - This pitiful little 6-mo-old boy is very, very sweet. It appears his ear has been cut off, has a few cuts on top of his head and his left front leg is broken. It looks as though he may have gotten cut by a car fan belt. Despite his condition, his spirits are high. He is enthusiastic and loves to be held and cuddled.
This poor, pitiful kitty needs medical treatment NOW! He is at at the high-kill Murray County Shelter (just north of Atlanta and just south of Chattanooga, TN)!

Mamma is very sweet, and highly entertaining! In fact, as the shelter worker was preparing her canned food for the first time, Mama ran over, and sat down to patiently wait for it to be fixed. Once the food was placed in the cage she ran back, climbed into the cage on her own, and stood there while her precious babies ate first. Such a sweet darling!
The kittens are 5 weeks old and each one is friendly/sweet/have no resistance to being held. They were surrendered by someone caring for multiple cats and litters. Please don’t let them languish alone and unloved for the Holidays!

Bean’s profile with pics are located at http://www.catster.com/cats/1000485
I am sending this e-mail as a desperate plea to anyone who has the means and the experience (or willingness to learn) in caring for a diabetic cat. Cat Zip Alliance has had Bean, a short hair tuxedo female, in foster care for nearly a year now, and after many trips to the vet for a skin condition, we finally learned she is diabetic. She is doing very well though! She is quite young, around 3 years old, and a small-framed cat, but she is quite healthy, other than her diabetes. If she is given insulin shots daily and stays on a high protein diet and her stress level kept to a minimum, Bean could live a long and happy life! The problem is we need to find someone who understands that and is eager to give her the love and care she deserves. She has been through a lot even before she was rescued (read her bio on Catster for more info) so she really needs to live out the rest of her life in a safe and happy home. Please do consider opening your heart and home to this miracle of a kitty!
For more information on Bean, please contact me at kittycrusadersofathens@gmail.com Bean’s current foster can inform you even more about her personality with dogs and other cats since she’s currently living with a dog and cat, both older and larger than her yet Bean is not stressed by them at all.
Thank you for listening and have a wonderful holiday season,
Abby

There were some complications with Holly and Noel’s planned rescue, so we are posting them again:
HOLLY and NOEL
This traveling pair have been seen wandering all over Winder, Georgia hoping someone would adopt them for the past two months. How anyone could look out their front door, see these two and not let them in to stay is amazing to me. Just one look and they win me over. They originally were seen separately and then they teamed up with the dog always following the cat. Never the other way around. When we found out Animal Control was going to be called, we decided we just couldn’t risk them being PTS. We sent a wonderful volunteer to pick them up and transport them to our vet in Greenville, SC. We have had them both fully vetted. Holly, the dog, had to be spayed. Noel had already been neutered, which we are very thankful for, since I bet he just loves to have a good time. They are both as friendly as can be and would make the perfect ready made family. It’s Christmas time. Let’s give them a present of a new life together with a wonderful family that will love on them as much as we do.
I have personally picked up all of their expenses since they are not an abuse case. They were abandoned but not abused. Please, send this e-mail far and wide so we can get them home by Christmas.
If you are interested in this wonderful pair, please
contact us at the e-mail below.
Please crosspost for this little family. If anyone has any contacts in Oklahoma or Dallas that can help, please contact Shelley Gosney at shelley_gosney@yahoo.com or call 404-438-6869
Thanks!
Hello and Happy Holidays Friends.
I’m reaching out to you to see if you, or someone you know would consider adopting or fostering a very loving female adult cat and / or 1 of 3 kittens which are around 10 weeks old. Can you please help me help these little creatures by forwarding and cross posting this email to any one you believe would be a loving caretaker to a cat in need of a safe and forever home or provide a foster home until I can secure a permanent home.
Their story:
In early November I visited my elderly grandparents who reside in a very small town in rural Northeast Oklahoma. What used to be a charming small town when I was growing up is now very economically deprived, houses have been abandoned and so have animals. While visiting I learned that a beautiful and very sweet cat had given birth to kittens in my elderly grandparents garage; to my delight the mother cat was very protective and loving to her little ones. Knowing the sad plight of stray animals in rural America, I could not leave them there in good faith without trying to help them find safe loving homes. Last week I made arrangements to have them boarded at a Vet in a neighboring town. Tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec 15th) they will all get their shots and the mother cat will be spayed.
Time is against me.
As many of you know I no longer live in Dallas but now live in Atlanta GA which makes this good will mission tricky. These cats best chance of adoption is in a large city which is why I’m asking for your help. Later this week I will be flying into Dallas for business then on a leap of faith I will be driving up to Oklahoma on Saturday (Dec 19th) to pick up these adorable babies and transporting them back to Dallas praying that between now and then you and I can collectively put our hearts and heads together to secure their future in the Dallas area.
About the Cats:
The Kittens are around 10 weeks old. They are all short haired and to date they are all thought to be boys. One is black, one is gray tiger striped and one is gray marbled. The gray marbled kitten has a special attribute in that he had to have one of his eyes removed last week. After consulting with the Vet, I learned this little guys eye had been scratched when he was very young. After learning it was damaged and would probably cause him discomfort and issues throughout his adult life, I made the decision to have his eye removed; 1 week later he’s doing great! The good news is his other eye is 100% and he will have 0 complications or issues moving forward.
Mother cat: She’s around 2 years old. She is short haired, solid black and beautiful! She is sweet, easy natured and loving. Did I mention she is very sweet! I think she will do best if she is adopted by someone who already has a cat or maybe you will consider adopting her as well a kitten?
As a reminder, the mother cat will be spayed and have all her shots as of tomorrow. The kittens will get all their shots, with the exception of their rabies shot, tomorrow as well. They will need to be neutered @ 6 months of age and I will gift this to any responsible foster or adopter. See attached pictures!
I technically have 5 days to find these cats homes so I’m desperate for your help. Please let me know if you would like to consider adopting or fostering for a few months while we seek permanent homes. Another way you can help is to please post this at your office in a public space and/or forward this email to 5 people and ask them to do the same; networking and cross posting are critical and very effective for providing these animals any type of future.
If interested please contact Shelley Gosney @ shelley_gosney@yahoo.com or call

Thank you!

Here’s the latest on Holly and Noel:
I have a place in NY that is going o take them in a week and find them a home together. They will live with them until a home is found. If it takes forever that is fine with them.
Jennifer Smith
President, Noah’s Arks Rescue
This one is a mystery kitty – showed up on my doorstep a week ago wearing a collar, but I have had no response to fliers posted at over 50 homes in the neighborhood, an e-mail to neighbors, fliers at the entrance to the neighborhood, or a found cat report to the humane society. We are bordered by the Oconee River, a major creek, and large expanse of woods, so if he isn’t a neighbor’s cat, he must need a home!
He is very sweet and laid back, not very demanding (i.e., is okay with being left alone for long periods of time), loves canned food and head scratches.
Can you give this kitty a Christmas home?
