No: 6270 Nell is a Tan/Black Sheppard Mix 8 to 10 weeks old. She received her Distemper Shot 10/31/09. She is in the Hall of the Douglas County Shelter. Nell comes to the door and enjoys being petted and talked to. She is so appealing one cannot help but fall in love with this girl. She is available for Adoption Now so who will be first in line this weekend to give her a LOVING HOME???????
I found this puppy 2 weeks ago and no one has come to claim it after many attempts. She looks to be about a 4 month old red nose pitbull. She is somewhat trained. She uses the bathroom outside. She doesn’t bite or chew on your shoes or any other belongings. Shes great with children, and we are working on walking on a leash. We just cant keep her. I have 2 infants of my own and adding another baby to my crew just isn’t feasible. She deserves a great home as I know she will make a great companion. So if you or know someone that will take great care of her and spend the time with her she deserves please let me know. Thanks so much!!!

This puppy was found on the side of the highway in Aiken, SC but is now located in Athens, GA. She’s a mutt, probably weighs around 20 lbs. She is really well behaved and she gets a long with the rescuer’s other dog. I assume she’s less than a year old.

Tiny dog wonder Scooter dies
Scooter, the tiny dog wonder, has died.
At six-months-old, the Maltese pup was claimed to be the smallest dog in the world. He was going to try for the official world record when he turned one.
But he never got the chance.
He broke his leg jumping out of the hands of a minder earlier this week. His tiny leg was put in a cast but the medication he was given for it caused stomach ulcers and he did not survive.
But it was not for want of trying. The vets caring for Scooter took him home with them while he was being treated, getting up in the middle of the night to check on him.
“They were amazing, they tried so hard,” said owner Cheryl McKnight.
The 8cm tall, 20cm long, pooch is now buried in his shoebox at the bottom of his owner’s Gisborne garden.
Scooter slept and spent a lot of his life in the shoebox, she said.
When he died the vets offered Ms McKnight a box to bury him in, but it was too big.
“There was no box small enough for him. I said `I’m not going to bury him in that’, so I thought I would put him in the shoe box he lived in. The poor little fella.”
“I put him in the box with flowers and a little dove picture to take him to heaven – he looked wonderful.”
Ms McKnight said she would miss him immensely.
“He was a big part of my life.”
Scooter came from a litter of three and stopped growing before he reached two months.
His weight never exceeded 400 grams – and that was while fully clothed.
Ms McKnight fashioned a regular purple sock into a jersey, which Scooter wore around the house so he was easily seen.
He was originally named Pee Wee, but Ms McKnight changed it, saying she didn’t want him to suffer an inferiority complex.
Scooter achieved global fame in his short life, with his picture published in Switzerland, Malaysia, America, Australia, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

This brindle baby needs to be rescued ASAP! He has been at the pound for well over a week, but he’s only available to rescue groups. He’s a sweet, easy-going pup with a playful personality. He’s very attentive to people and he’s perfectly content just hanging out, receiving belly rubs, or fetching tennis balls. They don’t get much sweeter than this little guy, so please hurry to save him!!

28905 The male basenji mix is under a year old. He is quiet, gentle and sweet-all basenji traits. Whatever his mix, he is a wonderful dog and needs a rescue to save him.
28882 This little hound mix is brindle in color and may have some pit in him. What GA dog doesn”t?) He is extremely sweet. He is only a few months old and just came out of rabies Q. His owner is not coming back. A rescue group is all he has to count on to make sure he goes to the right home. He is very well behaved for his age and will make a fine pet.
28918 is a female Boxer Mix who is under a year old. She is petite at 30 pounds and will not get any larger. She is sweet and loving.
289252 is a 7 month old pit mix. His brindle coat is missing some hair. The nice veterinarian who comes to check skin problems at the shelter said it is flea dermatitis/allergies. He should be fine in a short time. This boy is a roly poly and loves to play. Please give him a chance.
28911 is a young pit american bulldog mix. She is white with a few tan patches and is just a sweetheart. She smiles and give kisses. She likes to sit with you calmly and watch everyone else at the shelter do their thing. She might be pregnant because her nipples are a bit swollen. That fact aside, she will make a wonderful pet.
28906 is another pit american bulldog mix. Dixie has been to ACCAC before and her owners do not want to reclaim her due to the recession.
28915 is a male 2 yearold spaniel mix who is only available to rescue b/c he is coming out of rabies Q.

Celebrity Chihuahua Heart-kun gets a younger brother who shares his heart-shaped marking

A few years back, a long-haired Chihuahua puppy became an international phenomenon due to a heart-shaped marking on his side. His owner and breeder, Emiko Sakurada of Odate in the Japanese prefecture of Akita, aptly named him Heart-kun, and his image graced a number of puppy-friendly websites like Cute Overload.
At the time, Sakurada, who says she’s bred more than 1,000 Chihuahua puppies, said she’d never seen one with markings like Heart-kun.
Until now. Last week, Heart-kun’s mother gave birth to a new litter of puppies, and one of the four tiny pups shares the unique heart-shaped coat marking. Sakurada has named the new puppy Love-kun, and, although she generally sells the puppies she breeds, she told the Daily Mail that she has no intention of parting with Heart-kun and Love-kun.
